Small flies around indoor plants can become a persistent nuisance, particularly when their larvae are living and developing in the soil. House Fly Nematodes offer a natural, chemical-free way to tackle the problem by controlling fly larvae directly in the growing medium, helping to reduce the number of adult flies emerging around your houseplants.

Containing live Steinernema feltiae nematodes, this biological treatment uses microscopic organisms that actively search for and target fly larvae in the soil. By controlling the larvae before they develop into adults, the treatment helps interrupt the breeding cycle and manage fly infestations without the need for chemical pesticides.

Natural House Fly Control for Indoor Plants

House Fly Nematodes provide a simple and effective way to manage small fly larvae found in houseplant soil. Once mixed with water and applied to the growing medium, the beneficial nematodes move through the soil in search of larvae, helping to reduce infestations at the source.

Suitable for indoor use throughout the year, this natural treatment can also be used outdoors during the warmer months, particularly between April and August when fly problems are more common.

How Do House Fly Nematodes Work?

Beneficial nematodes are microscopic organisms that naturally seek out insect larvae living in moist soil. When applied to houseplant compost, the nematodes move through the growing medium and actively search for small fly larvae.

Once they enter a suitable larva, the nematodes reproduce and prevent it from developing into an adult fly. This helps reduce the number of flies emerging from the soil and limits further breeding around your plants.

Unlike yellow sticky traps, which catch adult flies, nematodes target the larvae beneath the soil surface, helping to control the problem where it develops.

How to Apply House Fly Nematodes

  1. Mix the nematodes with water before application.
  2. Apply the mixture directly to the soil around the roots of your indoor plants.
  3. Ensure the treatment is distributed across the affected growing medium.
  4. Allow the beneficial nematodes to move through the soil and seek out fly larvae.
  5. Repeat the treatment if necessary to help manage ongoing infestations.

When to Use House Fly Nematodes

House Fly Nematodes can be used indoors throughout the year, making them suitable for treating small fly problems in houseplants whenever they occur.

They are also suitable for outdoor use during warmer months, with April to August being a particularly useful treatment period when fly infestations are more common.
